Especially when it reads ‘Next 20+ miles’
Just got home from a weekend in Arkansas. I need to sort through go pro footage, but holy shit how are people not talking about this roads?! Every road we took was INCREDIBLE. I think the Ozark National Forest area might be the best place to drive in America, yet I never hear anyone talk about it.

About 40 miles, friends drove it Friday on way to Chillicothe. White nuckle for over an hour and one said he doesn’t want to do it again. Its not mountains but its fun. Check out the Youtubes for it.

I just get:
ROAD HUMPS
NEXT few BLOCKS
Especially galling as the road it is on is exactly one block long.

I remember driving a ‘72 El Camino up to Harbin Hotsprings near/in Calistoga CA many years ago. Saw yellow diamonds stating “12 1/2". They were true! We’d starve for fuel on left hand turns due to side-hung bowls on the carb at that speed.
And then there was the time we were heading south outta Oregon on the top end of Hwy 1, called the Matol(sp?) Road, running right down the coast. (A lot of it was gravel. Maybe why it wasn’t classed as Hwy 1.) In the middle of nowhere we came upon a stop light. It was red so we stopped.... A bit later it went green so we went on. Around a corner or 2 we saw that half the road had slid down into the ocean. CA saved money by installing the stop lights instead of blasting another lane outta the mountain.

ooops, I’ll be quiet from now on. If you want to know the best NE -Central Ohio roads I can’t tell you now. Lets just say they might be searchable :)

Haha kidding of course. They are all almost available on other websites anymore. Luckily they aren’t traveled much anyway

lol, If you are ever coming north I can and will offer up some great routes for you. Some of the roads through Amish country are great but you constantly have to be aware of buggys and farm equipment. In the east near Cadiz, Steubenville, and close to Carrolton there are some great roads I’ve driven only once and want to go back. I know of a few of them that are only 3-5 miles long but when you come away your hands hurt from gripping the wheel.

My pig big of a GX probably wouldn’t be very fun on those back roads. Been to the Amish country many times. I suspected there were good roads around there. Seen some Caymans, a Ferrari once, etc.

I get down there each year because my tax guy is in that region. I make the return trip home an adventure by hitting Breitenbach for some bottles for our wine selection, grabbing some good cheeses at Guggisburg and then hoof it home on some twisties. Since I started doing that, it makes tax prep more enjoyable. much less a burden.

Add Miller’s bakery to your list. Less than a 2min drive from Guggisburg. You have to go early in the mornings when it is busy but they have some of the best donuts if not the best donuts you will ever eat in your life.

Lol, been there before. I’m on a bit of a health kick so I’ve been avoiding sweets. Maybe I should buy some for my wife. Another place is Hershbergers Farm if you like baked goods. Its also fun to be there in the fall for pumpkins and mums. Crazy to see the goats on the roof and all the horses around. When they have the grille going they have awesome hamburgers.

Haha I have been there too myself. Usually go in the fall. My fiancé got a kick out of the goats. She had never seen it before.
Side note: Ohio oppos need to have a meet up at some point!

True a meet up would be great. I saw McSeanerson at SOFR this weekend and Roundbadge who lives up here was there too. Some other Opponauts were there but not sure if from Ohio. If they hold a Cars & Coffee at Dover/ New Philadephia this year it would be a fair meeting place for mid eastern half of state or maybe something in Columbus. Met Dusty Ventures at SOFR in Chillicothe this weekend and a few others from out of state. It was a fantastic rally. I’ll post my pictures before the weekend.

Sounds pretty great! New Philly wouldn’t be a bad place. Somewhere like Mid Ohio would be neat too. Maybe for the Indy race?
